I developed a quick study guide for kindergartners.
One day my daughter brought home a note from her teacher that notified parents of a new test the state would be giving. The note included what seemed to be a very long list of new words. How could we possibly have the students ready in time?
I decided to develop a Kindergartner's Study Aid, Cliff Notes style.
I went to my computer, accessed an early version of Microsoft Publisher and went to work. I developed fun sentences using each word and added clip art to match.
I sent a copy to the teacher. Quickly she made copies and distributed to parents and other K Teachers.
I don't remember the scores. I do know that taking action helped me more than anyone. Feeling that I had helped decrease student, parent, and educator stress was reward in itself.
I wish I had saved a copy; but I didn't. You will just have to take me at my word, or, give me a new assignment to try to reconstruct it.
